This is a selection of blades we have saved over the months with cosmetic issues. Scratches, coating issues and the like. There is no issue with the mechanical, structural or steel on these blades.
These blades are sold as is and all sales are final. No Refunds on Blem blades so make sure you are ok with a scratched blade being worth the deep discount.
If you are going to work these blades as designed this is a great value. Every one has a different quality issue but the bottom line is none of these blades passed our final inspection before they went out the door. Some of them you will struggle to find what small detail we did not like about them. Some of them you will notice right away.
These are very limited in quantity. Use the pull down menu for what blades are available and its price. there are no pictures of the issues. These are first come first serve items.

Love this blade. The skeleton handle and monkey tape is genius. Let's you custom index the handle to fit your hand. Rhino sheath works fantastic in the belt loop tuck and keeps your blade on tap at all times while being unobtrusive. Extremely well thought out system. Blade looks unblemished to me. Would highly recommend.

It's a really well made knife unlike other knives that I've seen that easily break or go dull after a few cuts. The knife is nice and sharp and cuts through things very easily. I really love the knife and I'll recommend it to those who want a high quality knife.

I stumbled upon Skallywag a week ago simply by surfing youtube. Saw all the applications of the MDV+1. So I had to have one. Bought the blem blade, folks at Skallywag have some high standards. My blem blade had some minor cosmetic issues, burr on the edge that stropped right off. Thats it. Hell of a deal. Throw this and a Leatherman in your pockets and you’re all set.

I ordered the blemished MDV plus one since the normal MDV has been out of stock for a while... and let me tell you that I'm very impressed. I barely noticed the small scuff on the blade, one that you can only see in certain lighting. The discount for the blemished blade is well worth it. I love this innovative blade design and sheath. The options are endless on how you may use this tool. Watching skallywags helpful instructional videos have been a huge help in trying to learn the skills and information necessary to wield this blade. I highly recommend you get the trainer BTW. Although, the trainer is a lot lighter than the live blade so make sure to practice with the live blade once you're comfortable. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my order from Skallywag!

Although this was purchased as a blemished MDV Folder in titanium, very little blemish was evident save for a small knick on the handle. QA standards are plainly high at Skallywag Tactical if this is a blemished blade. The opening, locking, and belt clip functions work great. Just unpacked it and I'm already impressed and loving it. Great job, Skallywag!

This is the best deal on a self defense knife that has the option of purchasing a trainer I could find. Compare to Amtac blades that run $450. The rhino sheathe is an truly innovative design that doesn't print in the pocket and with some practice, is easy to draw from. I would trust this knife in a self defense situation.

The handle is too.small for my hands to grip it properly. I wear an L/XL glove so for those that have larger hands this is probably NOT the handle design for you.

The MDV blade is heavy & impressive. The MDV sheath unfortunately is too loose fitting (do not neck hang it!). I hope they can update/tighten the sheath to the knife.

I've been trying to get one of these fixed blades for some time now but they are always sold out. Just so happened I saw a blemish one available.... I don't care because I'm going to use it anyway. Arrived and I can't find a blemish anywhere. Works great and I like it more with no tape on the handle. Glad I finally got one and you will be too.

Excellent quality and craftsmanship. The only critique is that the finger hole is a bit awkward. It's to big for one finger in the hole but 2 fingers in knuckle deep gets a little cramped. (Said none of your ex-girlfriends). Lube your sheath so it's easier to pull out. I never thought a knife review would finish this way, but I said what I said.

The Aluminum Dagger is light, quick and very pointy. The perfect ladies implement for self defense. Also good for anyone who wants a fast close quarters combat weapon that is easy to carry and conceal due to being practically weightless. This one was from Skallywag’s Blemished sales, but had no readily visible blemish.

Love this aluminum dagger. I carry it as an edc defensive blade and the aluminum makes a huge difference wearing it on the belt line! Great shape and amazing sheath design makes this a great edc blade. Bought it at a huge discount with the blend sale and hardly even notice any blemishes!

This knife looks great! I can see a scuff mark to the right of the Scally wag emblem. It’s just a topical scuff mark. Nothing to feel skuffy about. I really had to look to see what was wrong with it. I even checked the spelling of Scally wag.
It says “blemished” but I feel like it’s just a incredible “DISCOUNT”.

I bought a blemished aluminum dagger, it was great! I can’t tell how it’s blemished cuz it looks perfect! The blade is so light I barely know I’m carrying it. I would strongly recommend this knife as a secondary weapon especially in a maritime environment. I carry it when I go walking and I don’t have to worry about my sweat causing the knife to rust. Excellent knife!

I have been trying to get two of the MDV's for awhile, but they were always sold out. I got an alert on a blem sale, I tried getting two, ran into a problem, called the number and got I beleive Keith on the phone. Dude was a life saver, he took care of me and I awaited my package. I received them, opened the box, , examined them, and............ BD, little tiny scratch that you wouldnt even notice if they hadnt of said they were blems. Needless to say I was pleased with my purchase. I gave the other to my sister who carries both edged weapons and a sidearm. She LOVED it!!! I will buy more in the future, top notch!

Lost faith in folding knives. Micheal's design is great for an EDC stabber with some additional features. Really like the rhino sheath. Truly revolutionary. I can't appendix carry anything. Don't know how you guys sit down. Tucking the rhino sheath in a belt loop for horizontal carry, I forget it's there. Nice design for a non-dominant hand. I added some 3M traction tape for better grip.

Haven't had a chance to cut with it but it looks like a cutter. Feels ok in the hand but drawing from 4 o'clock is a lil rough due to the pommel. Feels solid but the edge needs stropping. Love the chisel edge tho. Lastly, I assumed it was bigger. Def a EDC knife but might not be survival/combat size. That being said I think I could be a good fighter.

I bought myself the mdv plus 1 blem because it was a great buy and a self defense blade system I'd been looking at for over a year. The D2 blade is easily sharpened and the carry system is ingenious as well.
I carry this and a similar setup I made for myself with a fish and game knife in ss. But I will say the mdv is a more compact and more purposeful edc carry option than mine. So now that I have this original, I carry it nearly 2/3 of the time. It fits well, loose in the pocket but a small clip can anchor it if that's your preference.
I'm well pleased with my new purchase and it was well worth the price it commands.

Have an aluminum, and a+1 in steel. Both from the blem pile. No blems to be found. Fine functional blades.
Carry the aluminum in a rino,in my pocket. The MDV+1 steel rides horizontal up front on my belt,thanks to a bit of paracord,and pirate rope tying knowhow. All day everyday Carry in comfort.

Keep in mind that I have zero weapons or tactical raining. I am just a concerned father. The fact that you can buy a trainer alone, togheter with the fact that the company offer and promotes specific training support for their costumers, is highly comendable. Regarding my blem MDV +1, I dont know cause I have never had an "unblem" to compare it too, but I cant really spot anything, wich also shows this guys attenyion to detail. I work as a pro Cook and I hold knives all the time though and I can say that this is the most natural and secure feeling of handling any knife maybe Ever! Thinking of getting another..

I use to carry a Zebra all aluminum pen for self-defense and as a writing instrument. This Skallywag Tactical pen is sturdier and as discreet, and quite bit pricier but worth it.

I took a shot and got the blemish blade (MDV+1) because it was the only one available at the time and still is as of me making this review 7/14/23 they need to restock! Anyways I was so impressed with their “blemished” blade that I contacted support to ask what was blemished about it and their answer shocked me. they said it was a finish issue light scratches or faded color that’s crazy well I still can’t find the “original issue” as you can see in photo all of the scratches are from me lol! Excellent product you should also consider purchasing the MDV trainer and specialist class on elite you with designer Michael DonVito it’s definitely worth the extra scripts.

I can't find a "blemish" on the two pens I bought. Great for everyday carry with a glass breaker tip. Pull the top off and it clicks in place so it won't get lost. Standard Parker style refills for convenience and availability.

Fantastic! Just absolutely fantastic. I hope I receive a feedback or response from Skallywag Tactical as I really want to know what is the flaw or “blem” about this knife. I can’t seem to find any flaws. Not that i want any flaws, but i honestly would like to know what’s wrong with the knife so that if I ever need to use this knife for defensive purposes, that it will not fail me. Granted i have my trusted MDV as my main carry but still, i want to be sure this folder works every time. In any case, as i mentioned above, FANTASTIC knife. I own a collection of Skallywag knives and this is by far the best one i own. Thanks!!!

The fit and function of the blade is outstanding. The knife is smaller than I had assumed, but no less useful. I watched the rhino sheath videos from MikeD and the concept made sense. I would like to incorporate this into more of a kit carry mount, however, and am working on some ideas to personalize the sheath.

This is a lightweight, very cool looking blade that fits my medium sized hand very well. While it is aluminum, it has a cutting edge and I would be confident using it for cqb.

I bought 2 of the blemished Bad Fish blades because they were a great deal. I can't find the blemishes, just a really excellent fillet knife, so now I have one for the tackle box and one for the kitchen. The nylon sheath is sturdy and will stand up to outdoor use. I like the grippy handle materials.
