I have over 150 knives, including many fixed blades. This knife hit a real sweet spot for me. The size just fits my hand perfectly, and I like the hefty handle With scales that just feel great to hold. 440C is excellent steel. As a martial arts instructor for 45 years who is really into knives this hits just the right markers for an every day carry blade as well as a self-defense tool if you used properly. At this price point, you simply cannot go wrong with this Efficient blade. I put an ulticlip On the sheath and wear it on my belt without any problems. You hardly notice it until you need to use it then you’re glad it’s there. Highly recommended.

The knife itself is great, but the sheath is unusable. Not just bad, but it literally can’t be used at all. There’s some felt material inside that just makes it useless. Can’t get the knife in completely period and almost impossible to get it out if it does go in. I can’t carry the knife without the sheath, so it’s pretty much useless.

Disappointed in the scales. The white scales were ground down to low and the blue scales are showing through. Looks sloppy. The blade is nice and was easily sharpened. I would buy the plain black scales for the future, not the red, white, blue

The craftsmanship is on point. Well designed and durable. Comfortable and solid handle. My only surprise is that the sheath didn’t come with a belt clip, could cord it for around the neck carry but preferred a belt, pocket or boot carry option

The Fireside Pro - Freedom from Skallywag Tactical is an impressive fixed blade that delivers on materials, build quality, and aesthetics. The blade feels robust and well-crafted, with excellent edge geometry and a solid handle design that inspires confidence in hand. The "Freedom" colorway is a standout—vibrant and patriotic without being overdone—and it perfectly matches my other Toor knife in the same scheme, which is a nice bonus for collectors or those who appreciate gear cohesion. The taco-style sheath is sleek and well-molded, offering excellent retention without making the knife difficult to draw. My only issue lies with the mounting compatibility: the hole pattern on the sheath didn’t align with the Ulticlips I already owned, which made setup a bit frustrating. That said, once mounted, it carries very comfortably. Overall, it’s a high-quality, visually striking piece with a lot of practical merit. Just be mindful of mounting options if you’re planning to use aftermarket clips.

Was looking for the right knife for edc ,that was a fixed blade that would fit in multiple pockets on my coat or pants and not be too long or bulky. And the Fireside Obsidian Pro is just the right knife. It’s very sharp and great quality too.
