MDV Trainer.
This run is a re-make run and has no logo or subdued logo. This is a trainer, no frills. Does not come with sheath. You may find you will have to wrap the trainer to fit the sheath (Rhino). We make the sheath for the live blade not the trainer and the material for the trainers is a bit thinner.. This run is also a re-worked run to make some trainers available to our professionals. If we did not do this re-work run we would be out of stock for at least 4 months on trainers. At the price we are selling these for we are losing over 30.00 on each of these trainers, this is only being done so we can a viable trainer to the people that need them the most right now.

This was worth the wait.. I was able to get both the blade and the trainer.. I love the quality of this trainer.. alot of trainers kinda seem like a after thought, I'm here to tell you this one isn't. If you get the MVD+1 you owe it to yourself to get the trainer also .. and FYI get two rolls of monkey tape.

I like the MDV TRAINER (BLUE) But, my hands are big and does not fit the handle comfortably, and for a "TRAINER" it is VERY SHARP. LUCKILY I TESTED ITS SHAPNESS ON A PACKAG. THE KNIFE TRAINING I DO IS REALISTIC & HARDCORE, IT WOULD HAVE EASILY CUT SKIN OR CLOTHING.

This trainer is excellent, helps you learn how to manipulate the knife and is a super less-than lethal tool. Jab it into a nerve cluster or pressure point and most punks will not be able to get away from you fast enough!

Sometimes I even amaze myself, but this was a no brainer. I purchased this MDV trainer to practice with while watching the training videos and I am so glad I did. This trainer is the exact same size as the MDV+1 and fits the sheath perfectly. Skallywag wants you to become proficient with their highly engineered and very well designed MDV+1 and their trainer is the head start you need to utilize every feature of the MDV+1. This is a small investment in your security and safety and well worth it. As Albert Einstein once said "If you stop learning, you start dying." Again, if you have any questions, please call Craig. Love the training blade… I carry it around all day in my hand most of the time working on moving the blade back and forth and getting proficient, of course, I may drop it and it hits my leg or I may make contact with my arm by accident when working with the blade and I make sure I say out loud stabbed or cut, LOL that's why I practice so I won't make the mistake when using the real blade…

Just a trainer and an extra sheath to use when practicing deploying the trainer. It works as advertised and with the trainer I can practice by striking a hard surface without worrying about damaging the real knife.

Excellent product it is a must have if you owned the MDV plus one! also you should really consider purchasing the MDV plus one training classes on Eliteyou with Michael Donvito it really helped me understand the madness and mindset behind this blade!
Side note for Skallywag owners you need to restock the live blade in d2 and Damascus I got friends who want this blade but it’s out of stock.

The MDV Plus One and trainer was quickly delivered.
I adopted a 12-o'clock carry under my belt; a perfect fit. Accessibility is immediate, and the knife is easily concealed under a t-shirt.
I've already gone through a few sheath rubber bands by cutting through them when I re-sheath the blade. I have to be careful with the process or I know I'll clip a few more. I don't know if this an anomaly, or only due to my carelessness, but I thought I'd mention it if others have had the same issue and you're considering a redesign of the sheath.

I was amazed at the number of useful videos done on the MDV knife. One in particular sold me on the importance of training with the unsharpened aluminum version to get the muscle memory required to use the steel version. Highly recommend you buy the training blade!

I am very happy the Damascus knife that I purchased earlier but was very careful when working it , very sharp. Now that I have the trainer I can be a little bit less careful especially on the draw. All products are well made and feel good in the hand. Great communication and fast delivery.

I actually cut my sparing partner with the training blade. So I had to rub it against steel beam until it was completely blunt. Otherwise, it was fine.

Like it for training, I get to handle the knife alot more and not cut myself. I sometimes use it as a fidget toy to help my familiarity with the tool. I would like a steel version so I can get familiar with the weight.

This caught my eye due to the unique design. It’s very well made and really well designed as a deep concealment, last ditch weapon. My GF has hijacked mine for her daily jogs since it’s easy for her to carry in workout clothes.
My only complaint isn’t a flaw on the part of skallywag, but rather that my hands are a little big to use it comfortably. I wear a 2XL glove and it’s still usable for me, but a little on the small side.

Been using the MDV trainer to work blade skills for a few weeks and I love it. Only complaint is that it’s sharp in comparison to my other training blades due to its thin design. I added some tape and paid close attention to my training partners feedback to remedy this. I’m 99.9% happy with the trainer and have it set up like I would the live blades on my person. This is a first draw blade for me in my training group.

If you are new to this blade and the “little hooker sheath” then training is HIGHLY recommended.
I have drawn blood just working with the trainer. Thankfully it wasn’t the real blade. Get the trainer and train. The real one, well, is real and will cut up…things. You cannot train with the real blade. It is sharp af. Get the trainer in addition.

Again, this is a well made trainer with 1 to 1 size that gives best in handling and feel to a real blade. its a must have item with MDV plus 1 knifes.

I don’t have this trainer; I have the old red version. I love having a training blade to practice with, but the old model was a little too pointy for training hard. This new blue version looks like it has a more rounded tip, which completely solves the problem. Get one!
