This blade has been around for hundreds of years.
We called it the Shaver but its more of a boot knife or carry just in case as a back up. These will come sharp but not shaving sharp. If you want them to shave you will have to sharpen them to a razor edge. They are a zero grind which means the grind ends in zero not a land so with a few swipes on a stone you can have a true shaving razor. We did not put a shaving edge on as they are not a lock knife and if you close one on a finger when shaving sharp its a bad thing. For those who do want to shave there are hundreds of YouTube videos showing how to make it that way.
Many of us are old school and remember the day when people used to carry these as a tool. You decide how you want to use it!

Extremely sharp, nice weight great price makes a great gift
Attached are just a few of the Skallywag knives I own. I own probably ten more plus three practice blades. Best knives out there for the money in my opinion. Skallywag takes care of their customers well above and beyond what is expected. My personal story is TSA took one of my knives that I forgot to remove from a bag. Skallywag was kind enough to replace it free of charge. I have more knives than common sense as I cannot pass up a quality blade. Skallywag knives make up a large share of my collection.
Horrible customer service experience with the owner of this company, Craig!!! The lining is sticking out of the scales on the spine of the shavers. These were not supposed to be "blemished" items. Look at the pic from their website and look at the ones I submitted. I emailed CS and it went down hill from there. I used a coupon to buy them and Craig kept accusing me of "trucking" the company somehow! I don't even know what that means! Something happened on their end and I ended up paying like $3 per knife but $42 in S/H. Craig kept accusing me of figuring out some way of cheating the company. I had no clue it even happened until he pointed it out because the total was still $50 something. Craig also kept saying the liners were supposed to stick out of the back because of a better and new design. I have bought quite a few items from Skallywag and I loved all of it but this was a horrible experience! Guys, I hope non of you ever have to use their CS because all they would do for me was accuse me of being dishonest.

Wicked little straight razor! Not shaving sharp out of the box but very sharp nonetheless! Beautiful scales and a beautiful product!
I am old guy from the fifties. An razors were common threat to face. Now they carry box cutters. I would take a razor over them any day. Your old school razor is just the right tool to add to your EDC kit. Once it is broke in . It opens fast. It also makes a good box opener. I am not brave enough to try shaving with it. But some advice to those that do. #1don't ever shave when you have a coughing/ don't let any one speak to you . turning your head to answer could win you a ticket to the haven express just saying. These guys make knives/lil shaver that can save your life .
Great quality razor. Makes a wonderful gift! Every pirate should have one. The full liners really make it one to last the test of time.

Love it. It’s well made. Doesn’t ship sharp. And I am not sure but I didn’t see a strop for sale with it. More investment required. More research required!

I was really excited to get this straight razor at the deep discount, while it comes sharp as a good utility blade I thoroughly enjoyed getting it to hair popping sharp. It has a beautiful handle and I can’t find a single fault with it. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to pick up one of your products for such an amazing price
As an Italian I have a thing for straight razors. Skallywag makes a quality product at a great price. I have purchased ten and have given them to all my Italian friends.

Product is fine, well made and balanced. The issue is no guidance on sharpening or even the edge angle. I have successfully dulled the edge 'guessing' at the proper angle and have begun essentially re-sharpening from scratch.
Great little blades. Look good and function as they should.

Great blade
The blue grip wasn’t properly lined up with the metal handle. I don’t know what I expected from a 4 dollar Chinese knife but, it will cut stuff.
Never received it in my order
For $5 it's a darn good blade. Just finished shaving with it. Just to note, as the description says you do need to put a bit of work into it for it to be shavable sharp.

The marketing for the Shaver sold me. Why not have a shaving razor as a backup hidden boot knife? I have since sharpened it further and actually use it to shave (swapping with my previous online mall special). The pearlescence blue handle was just too pretty to expose to boot funk.
