The perfect Get Off Me Tool, I barely notice it’s there sitting behind my cell phone or mag pouch. Easy to access, just slip a finger through the large loop. I especially appreciate that the edges aren’t sharpened. There is no way to cut yourself, just stab the shit out of your assailant.

Skallywag D2 Dagger. I can't say enough good things about this dagger since I've gotten it. I have a preference for daggers/spear point styled blades for self-defense purposes, as I prefer the stabbing/penetration aspect of them. Works great for those who have grappling backgrounds, but then again you can say the same thing for any blade for that matter. Anyway, at first I was skeptical about purchasing this because of how unique it looks compared to other traditional styled daggers, with its shape and larger ring. Finally pulled the trigger on getting one, and wish I hadn't delayed. The shape and feel of it is very streamlined, and feels comfortable to grip. The ring, I thought would take some getting used to, but being able to hold forward or reverse grip work just fine, and was something you can easily adapt to. If you've ever trained with karambits, it feels very similar. You're even able to flip the D2 dagger like a karambit, if you're into fidgeting with your karambits when you're bored, so you'll feel very familiar with the handling of it. The bigger ring makes deployment very easy if you find yourself in a situation where you can't get a great purchase on the blade, and it makes getting the blade into a situation where you can get a better grip on it incredibly fluid. The point of this dagger can penetrate with almost no effort, only requiring the smallest amount of light pressure applied. And then you add in the fact that the blade also widens out as you get closer to the handle portion, this definitely makes some nasty wound channels. The sheath and clip are also some pros to touch on. Secures nicely, and the clip is very similar to DCC clips. It's not so tight that it's difficult to attach to your belt, but not so light that you don't feel that it's not secured. It even attaches securely onto athletic pants/shorts, where you may not be able to wear a belt. Similar to their MDV blade, I highly recommend you use the monkey tape they sell. You can absolutely use regular athletic tape, but the convenience of having the slimmer rolls of tape make personalizing your dagger that much easier. It's not so much getting a better tactile grip on the ring, but improving the ergonomics of it. If you were to just use the ring as is, you will notice the 'hot spots' where if you're used to applying a death grip, the tape helps to mitigate that. I used a combination of using the monkey tape and camo form, putting it near the areas where my middle knuckle makes contact with the rings inner edges. Overall, you won't regret adding this blade to your arsenal. It also makes a great toothpick

Purchased the D2 dagger in September 2023 and I just love it. It's very sharp, easy to deploy, and easily conceable on my body. Being a disabled person, I feel more confident in public when I'm armed with my dagger. Thank Guys!!

Purchased this D2 dagger after having purchased the aluminum dagger previously. They are both FANTASTIC!!! That being said, the D2 is next level and can really provide serious protection. Watch the video of the D2 being used on a pig carcass. Yeah…you’re gonna want this in your life. :) My husband and I now each have one. We also bought one for my mother, so she can arm herself while walking outside. :) Craig has been awesome as well with any questions I’ve had. Thank you!

Effective and practical for martial arts

Lemme simply say that I have a decent amount of experience with edged instruments. I won’t go into the long drawn out details, but suffice it to say, I have a deep understanding of knives. And one thing that I can say with absolute certainty is that both the Aluminum and D2 Daggers are the finest defensive knifes I have ever handled. It truly covers the necessary issues that are required to use a knife for both self defense and while using a firearm. Hell that’s why I’ve bought multiples of each of them lol. Bravo Skallywag.

The quality of this blade is unmatched, it really show cases the American made quality. The sheath is very comfortable to wear for everyday carry. It is a great blade as a tool and self defense. I would definitely reccomend this to any one who wants to conceal carry.

I’ve had a good amount of experience with knives. From growing up in a dangerous neighborhood, to military service, to training in Kali Escrima, and regretfully being incarcerated for a short time, I’ve seen the brutality and reality of knives. I’ve also purchased from many different reputable companies over the years (Cold Steel, Emerson, Spyderco, etc). And this knife is the hands down BEST knife I have ever owned. Period. It’s masterfully constructed, sharp as a rapier, light as a feather, and its design is exactly what a person would need if the scenario required it. The ring makes it easy to draw in both ice pick and hammer grips, the handle’s construction makes it easy to hold it tightly in any configuration your hand closes around it., and it’s razor sharp point will penetrate anything it comes in contact with. Bravo Skallywag Tactical. My only problem now is that I only ordered one! And now I’m gonna need to purchase several more, because I want one for my EDC, one for my wife, and Hell, I might want one just as a back up to my backups hahahaha! And I can tell you one thing I am certain of is that if this knife were deployed for its intended purpose, what or whoever’s is on the receiving end of it would absolutely be in bad shape once it punctured into them. Well worth the price for such a quality tool.

The d2 dagger is very cool. What I really love about this design is the huge finger ring! An absolute A+ in my book! The problem with ring daggers/knives is the rings are usually too small which can be trouble in a life/death situation. But skallywag nailed it with the ring. And it leaves no printing under my shirt.

I’m retired from Law Enforcement and served over 20 years in SWAT. I’m still active in training. I have used the dagger in live fire applications with my sidearm. The knife is great in hand to hand combat(All you need is to create minimal space to use the dagger) . I’m looking forward to trying other products that you produce .

This dagger is dope. Small town LEO here and I carry it on duty in my right cargo pocket, and it is intended to be a last ditch defense against someone trying to take my firearm from me or on top of me pummeling me or something. The tip is razor sharp, I have no doubt it will pierce any amount of clothing. And overall it’s just a super cool piece. One of three knives I carry on my person while on duty, and definently my favorite of the three.

These D2s are what I have been waiting for, for literally 2 years! The PX/BX sells a smaller version by Benchmade - a quality design, but smaller and lighter. And with my small hands, the Benchmade is still just a bit too small to be really functional for me. I had a custom knife maker in Fairbanks, AK (that's Alaska, NOT Arkansas) on the hook for 2 years. Through several frustrating issues, he just never got around to completing the custom build with a similar design. A co-worker recently told me about Skallywag and voila!, here we are today! I carry 3 of these D2s as shown. The military dog tag chain (yeah, I know, "ID Tag") is a perfect length for an ambidextrous reach just under the edge of the tactical vest if the shit hits the fan. The dual boot carry is also for scenarios when you don't know what side you'll end up on during ground scenarios. I recently had 2 other types of boot knives in sheaths, but Skallywag's sheath design is by far superior and outstanding when it comes to comfort and friction. They're comfortable enough to where I don't feel them inside! Pictured are new (but 25 years old) Army Combat Boots with Vibram soles installed by a local shoe shop. I've been using them for 2 years for the part-time job... the D2s are a phenomenal addition!

This sits in my vest at work. I love the oversized handle for when I’m wearing gloves. It’s very ergonomically designed and easy to grab. I replaced my Benchmade Infidel that I used to carry on my vest.

This dagger is wicked! It’s tip is super sharp like a needle, yet very durable because it’s made of D2 steel. I pierced it through multiple metal soda cans with ease and it received no damage at all. It’s light weight and extremely comfortable to carry around. I take it with me to work every day to protect myself from the frequent dog attacks I encounter while at work. Definitely worth the money!

Flawless design. More companies should be creating deep carry ring blades with enlarged retention rings just like Skallywag does. But Skallywag, just one request… Please make a 440C version?! I would definitely buy a stainless version as well! I’m a grappler and after practice I sweat so much that it creates a bit of surface rust on the D2 version. Not a performance issue, just aesthetic. Really like this defense weapon! Lightweight, easy to conceal, Very Robust, well made! I really like this D2 Dagger, very strong and very sharp! Fits my hand perfectly! Just what I needed! I carry IWB at about the 3:30 position on my right hip, don't even know it's there! the finger loop on top does not dig into my sides, fortunately, I stay in good shape and no love handles for the top finger loop to dig into, but even if you do have a few pounds extra, the shape of the finger ring is smooth and comfortable! Would strongly recommend this for someone who wants a defence weapon that is descreet and up to any task when needed! Top Shelf all the way!

This is a serious dagger, it comes as sharp as I have ever seen. Solid as a rock and so easy to carry. If you are serious about having a real dagger, not some want to be this is your blade. This is for serious use.

Love at first sight <3 I first saw this beauty on the YouTube channel "hard2hurt" and I knew I had to have one! This is truly a quality defensive tool that is comfortable for daily carry. I fancy myself a bit of a blade snob and I love the way this is built. From the D2 steel, the extra large thumb/finger loop, the finger grooves, the intentionally dull sides of the blade descending to an ultra sharp point that could very well pierce rhino hide. (Please do not do that!) All in all this is an excellent tool and worth the price! <3

I love this knife. I’m a big guy and after a few hours I found the perfect place to wear it in my waist band! It light to carry, the point is very sharp and it’s very easy to handle. I’m buying the practice blade to practice!

This was my first Skally Wag order two years ago. Bought it as a blemish blade super cheap. pic shows the blemish, yeah, I can't see it in pic either. Super small scratch in finish you have to get it in light just right to see it a good testament to their quality control. Finish holds up great I bought the kydex sheath and it has been in and out of it, only God knows, how many times. Tip is needle sharp, stout heavy build to blade, if I have to take a knife to a gun fight this will be it, with a sadistic smile. Easily concealed, easy to wield, and built to drive through tough material gristle, tendon, and flesh with a tip that I will bet lives will still sever vitals.

I've been carrying this dagger for a couple of weeks now and can honestly say it's one of the most comfortable blades I've carried. I typically wear 5.11 khakis and put this in the left pocket and half the time forget it's even there. I have no problem sitting crouching down or bending in any direction with this in that position. The pocket clip catches just right so the dagger comes out and the sheath doesn't. Overall, one of the best if not the best-off hand tools for self-defense. I originally got it because of Steve Fisher, Sentinel Concepts. It works similar to the Benchmade SOCP. This does offer a few different ergo features so my students can see the possible options on the market and choose for themselves. I wish that there was a package offered for the live and trainer blades. I realize that not everyone who wants one is looking for both, but offering a package would make a good "upgrade" instead of having to order a separate item.

Been glued to my body since it arrived. Been about 10 days now and it's just been everything I was looking for. I love the sheath clip that lets you use it in virtually any clothing (sweatpants, gym shorts ect). I also really like the fact that only the point is sharp, it makes me feel like I can practice drawing often without dulling the blade. This thing is sleek and versatile. I've even slept with it on accident and didn't realize it was still on till I went to the bathroom in the middle of night. I have no fears about this not being enough blade if push comes to shove and it needs to be used.

This is easily the best Dagger ever for the money! The OD green was the first one I ordered, once I received it, I immediately ordered the fde D2 Dagger, training Dagger, and one of the aluminum daggers. The customer service was great and the shipping was amazing. I will definitely be ordering more from Skallywag! Thank you.

I love this dagger. Very practical and tactical. I love the Sheath and clip. I can wear it with any pants or training clothing at the gym. It stays in place and is very comfortable, concealable and deploys wickedly fast.

I bought the D2 Dagger because I am a law enforcement officer. I hope that I will never have to use it in a deadly force situation, but if I did I feel like this would be a really reliable tool. The sheath it comes in is snug and I am more than confident that the clip on it will never rip away with the dagger when drawing it. It conceals very nicely as well. I plan on keep the dagger clipped onto my pants for now, and then I will eventually put it on my bulletproof vest. I keep it on my non gun side in case I am not able to reach my gun. I would highly recommend getting the D2 dagger trainer. Every night before I go to bed I practice flipping the dagger around in my hand gripping it different ways depending on the scenario I would be in. The customer service was spot on and I got a lot of good advice from Craig. If you are hesitant about buying this product email Craig and he will help you out, without pushing his product onto you. I look forward to the training videos that are supposed to be released soon, so I can continually learn how to best prepare myself for a deadly force situation.

Absolutely love this. My wife feels very comfortable wearing this, no guess work about getting it open. It is extremely sharp and strong. Great to fit on a vest with molle, which is why I bought it. Awesome dagger and sheath!

Love the blade and holster but the retention clip could be stronger I broke it the first day training with it and I’m still trying to figure out what size star key to use to replace the clip on it but other than that I’m really happy with my purchase.

It’s small enough to carry under my ballistic cover, I can deploy it lightning fast to defend especially if someone is attempting to disarm me and it’s fully concealed so no one is offended. After purchasing the aluminum versions for my ladies I decided I needed one for myself. The more I handle this close quarter beast the more I like it. I missing fingers on both hands so the design works perfect for me. If you have been looking at the two versions of these pull the trigger you will not be disappointed!!!!!

The point is sharp. It has already drawn blood! Good thing it comes with a sheath. It’s is a great design, easy to draw and hold.

Between the dagger and the MDV Plus One, the MDV is more comfortable to conceal on the waistband under a loose fitting shirt, though maybe my pants are fitting a little tighter these days. They are both excellent to handle and they seem very durable and well crafted.

Deadly by design This blade is designed for close corner sweep and clear. If you find yourself too close and your primary isn't an option the large loop on your chest rig makes for an easy and smooth deployment as your thumb sweeps up and makes somebody's day go from bad to worse. Choose to finish the job then and there or have them checking for leaks as you redeploy your primary or go for the pistol. Sexy, super pointy thickness at its finest. Getting jumped at a bar fight after some A-hole smacked your lady's bubble butt.....try real hard not to hit arteries. This thing is a close quarter demon in the right hands

Great blade The d2 dagger is a great purpose built blade. No the edges aren't sharp but if you read the description it isn't supposed to be. The 45 degree grind is meant to keep the point strong. It isn't meant for anything but creating distance from a attacker. Sheath design is excellent both retention and the clip design are top notch. This is my second product from them so far and I will be getting more.

This is sick! This is my 2nd knife from Skallywag and it is awesome! To be expected, the dagger is very well designed, with a very strong sharp point. Skallywag knocks another one out the park with this D2 Dagger. I will definitely be buying more Skallywag blades and expand my collection.

Solid duty knife I got one of the Blem D2 daggers. Despite all my searching I couldn’t find anything blemished about it. The knife is sturdy and solidly built. The edges are the simple 45 to maintain a strong point but the point is razor sharp. The sheath that comes with the knife is also very sturdy and retains the knife excellently yet provides a clean draw. Will be purchasing from skallywag again
