I had the pleasure of speaking with the owner last night. HE called me after I incorrectly ordered something. I called as soon as I realized it and 1 minute later emailed them. 20ish minutes later the call came from a real person who was actually fun to talk to. The issue got fixed. So, not only do they have amazing products, they care about the customers on a personal level. Very impressed with the knifes and company!

Amazing bread knife , beautiful pattern on the blade , razor sharp out of the box. I wish they'd offer a paring knife in the same style.

Ok I ordered this Blem Knife as a test to see how I would like it. First the blemish was barely noticeable , a small pin prick on the guard. This knife is very comfortable in the hand , very sharp and the only thing that would make it better, would be another one but about 2 inches shorter. It is a thing of beauty Thank you

Fantastic knive....sharp!

Bought the hole set with magnetic board for wife and me, plus kitchen chopper. Hands down the most beautiful sharpest and functional knife set I have ever owned, and board holds knives well. Son and daughter in-law liked so much we bought them a full set for Christmas last year. I have around 15 months on them, and they hold an edge well taken care of should last a lifetime plus. Was on tonight looking at chucks for son and me to blow off steam in shop during trying projects and wife seen the new more traditional set in a block and, yeah even though I prefer the old set, thank God for PayPal and good job + sides she has a new set coming. After at least a few good months of use, I will try to get a review on them. If you are looking for a quality kitchen set that won't entirely break the bank but still actually cut and not squish your food do not hesitate to buy these.

Started buying Skallwag three years ago. It was their boarding axe. I have not been able to stop buying their blades since. Love every one of Skallywag products I own. My inventory will continue to grow. Awesome blades!

The product is better than the pictures on the site! This is a very well made chef’s knife composed of high relief Damascus & San mai steel. The finish is that which you would normally pay custom made prices for. Fact is, this is a custom made knife. This quality simply can’t be attained on an assembly line. A craftsman put many hours of time and competency into this knife. The only negative, which isn’t exactly negative, the blade is induction welded to the shank or handle portion of the blade. If not heat treated well, this is the weak spot in the assembly. As a chef’s knife though, it should never see the level of use which would possibly compromise this welded area. Overall, a beautiful presentation grade packaged chef’s knife.

I purchased 2 of these as Christmas gifts. Over all I am very satisfied with them! My complaint with all of the Skallywag knives I have purchased, 6 in total now, is they are never as sharp as the reviews say. Both of these Blades have very sharp sections and a few that could barely cut through hot butter. Yes, I am very picky about sharp blades! It will continue to purchase from Skalywag knowing I will need to sharpen them upon arrival.

Absolutely Beautiful Knife, almost artwork!!!! And the most useful blade in my kitchen, I use it for everything from slicing veggies to trim fat on loin, it does it all and wants more!!!! Please keep up the wonderful knives!

Got this on a friend's recommendation. The knife is heavy, sharp, and the handle is beautiful - don't know how they did the color pattern. Just a wonderful knife.

Love this slicer. It is indeed the first knife I grab in the kitchen. It feels great in the hand and wonderfully sharp.

This is probably one of the most eye catching blades in my collection. Feels very good in the hand and easy to control but be careful it may just be the sharpest knife in my kitchen, pork,beef,do not stand in it's way. Today I fillet a few fish,very clean cuts nice fillets. I think I have a new favorite knife. Good work I think I'll have to order some more of you blades. Jim

I got this knife and the rest of the set as a birthday gift to my wife. It’s not her birthday yet so I can’t review the actual cutting ability of the knife. However, the grip of the handle, the packaging, and the obvious eye catching allure of the blade and handle is worth 5 stars in itself. Thanks for making a product that I have no doubt will surpass the expectations of my wife.

Incredible quality. The elegance of the blade is equally matched with its sharp edge that slides through any task with minimal effort. I would recommend this knife on the same par as highly awarded German and Japanese makers.

The knife is sharp. The blade and handle are beautiful. I have a huge assortment of cutlery. I have severe arthritis, so my son does most of the cutting preparation work when I cook. I told him to use this new knife to cut veggies and meat. He said the knife was to beautiful to use. Next time we cook, I will start to use it, so he can use it for all the preparations.

Excellent knives I gave the chef and santoku to my father-in-law for Christmas last year. He is a classically-trained chef. His knives see use every day and continue to not need sharpening, only occasional honing on a steel. Even with a disabled hand he reports that the knives are comfortable and a joy to use. The edge retention alone stands as testament to quality materials. They continue to be cherished gifts.

Work of art! Just received both kitchen knives today. They are absolutely gorgeous! Extremely sharp and the workmanship is amazing. They are so beautiful I am tempted to just display them and not use them. But what good is a knife if you don’t use it! Should I buy a second set, one to use and one to show off?

Kitchen knife for a pirate I ordered the kitchen knives based on past purchases. I was a little worried about the look of the knives, but the pictures do not do them justice. They are works of art well as functional. I intended to give them as gifts, but I am going to do what a good pirate would do: I am keeping these for my own kitchen. Skallywag Tactical did not disappoint.
