The Echo Wing is a compact fixed blade built for everyday carry when low profile, fast access, and solid retention matter. Measuring 6 inches overall with a 2.5-inch D2 steel blade, this blade packs serious utility into a lightweight 2.3 oz frame. Built as an elevated evolution of the MDV Plus One, the Echo Wing adds a G10 handle for improved grip, better control, and a more confident feel in hand.
Designed for discreet carry and rapid deployment, the Echo Wing features a compact grip with an open hook that helps lock the blade into the hand, even with gloves. Its chisel grind D2 steel blade is built for edge stability, strong penetration, and clean push or pull cuts. Slim, light, and easy to conceal, the Echo Wing rides comfortably in sweatpants, gym shorts, jeans, or wherever your day takes you.
Again excellence coming from skallyway . I had gotten 2 echo wings left one alone haven’t opened it . There other had been in my pocket since the moment I received it. Did a sheath modification, kind of an undercut so I can get 4 fingers and push off into coming out of pocket. Lost no retention still tight but now I got a full grip. Knife is sharp as fuck . Functions like a knife it cuts shit what more can I say . Another outstanding skallywag tool !! Thanks keep making awesome edc gear!!
All of the products that Skallywag Tactical sells are top quality. Every time I see you guys at The Blade Show it's talking to someone I've known all my life. The Echo Wing is a fabulous edc Blade.
This is a great knife and my new everyday carry. I have two of Skallywag’s MDV Plus Ones, along with the MDV folder, and they were my EDC until I bought the Echo Wing — I like the smaller size. I liked it so much that I bought another one under the “one is none, two is one” theory. I used jiujitsu tape to put two small bands on the handles in case it gets wet from rain water (or blood). The handles don’t need as much wrapping as the MDV because of the handle geometry (which I also really like).
I didn't think I would like anything over my MDV for a self-defense specific EDC knife but I was wrong! The improvements to size and shape of the Echo Wing are exactly what I didn't know I wanted. The ease of concealment is insane. I've worn mine with my every day work pants and belt all the way down to some board shorts and a tank top on pool days and it always stays concealed. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a slim EDC knife.
I have 3 blade from scallywag I love every single one of them, the malice lives on my duty vest, the mdv is my low profile going around with my wife and the newest one the echo wing is when I do body guard conceal carry all of them are sharp purpose driven every detail well thought out, I absolutely love these blade my guys are always asking about them, 100% will recommend all of these blade!!!
I’ve been carrying the Echo Wing for a while and I love it. The shorter length than the MDV-1 (which I also have) makes it that much easier to carry. My opinion is the blade length is sufficient to cause enough damage to stop or end a threat. I’ve got a bit of a belly, so finding a knife that doesn’t jab me is important. The knife is compact and super comfortable to carry…I feel absolutely nothing, even when seated or driving. I’ve even had to check I had the knife with me because it is so comfortable.
I love the modified handle and the pre-molded grip is a perfect fit. The knife mimics the same design as the MDV-1 with some thoughtful enhancements. The sheath is great and a big factor to the knife being so easy to carry. The new clip is truly versatile, supporting belt or IWB/pocket carry options. The cant with the sheath is a game changer. I also love the “thumb push” at the top of the sheath that allows for a rapid draw if carrying in your pocket.
The knife and sheath are a perfect combination. Thought the MDV-1 was my last knife, but the Echo Wing changed that. Absolutely love the entire package.
Compact, solid, and genius designed. The textured grip and open hook provide excellent control, while the sheath holds it securely without making the draw awkward. It carries easily and feels built for actual use. I’m very happy with the Echo Wing.
Skallywag does it again!
Echo Wing is amazing. The open hook and grip does a great job keeping this thing controllable and the D2 blade is an ideal size. The drop point blade really pulls this one together in a complete package that immediately has a place on my go to kit.
I just picked up the Skallywag Tactical Echo Wing, and honestly, I’m really pleased with it; it has immediately become my go-to small fixed-blade for EDC.
My overall impression is that it’s compact, lightweight, stable, and highly functional. It measures about 6 inches in total length with a 2.5-inch D2 steel blade, and at just over 2.3 ounces, it’s virtually weightless in the pocket. You can easily slip it into jeans, sweatpants, or even shorts; the low-profile carry is incredibly comfortable and doesn't create an unsightly bulge.
The G10 handle offers a superior feel compared to the earlier MDV Plus One, providing a very solid grip. The open finger-hook design is practical—it locks your finger in place securely, ensuring it won't slip even when wearing gloves.
The drop-point blade performs cleanly for both push and pull cuts; it’s more than capable of handling daily tasks like opening packages, cutting rope, or dealing with small packaging, and it comes razor-sharp right out of the box.
The Kydex sheath offers excellent retention and a smooth draw, allowing for use with the included clip or simple pocket carry.
As an evolution of the MDV series, it shifts the focus slightly from a purely tactical vibe toward everyday utility; the blade shape is more versatile, yet it retains that reassuring "locked-in" grip. Priced around $150, it’s a solid deal for a US-designed small fixed-blade featuring D2 steel and G10 scales—especially if you can snag a discount available to military, law enforcement, or instructors.
My only minor gripe is the shorter blade length, which limits its ability to handle heavy-duty tasks, but it was designed for discreet everyday carry, not for chopping down trees. All in all, I have no regrets—it’s already part of my daily carry. If you’re looking for a small fixed-blade that’s low-profile yet offers a rock-solid grip, this one is definitely worth considering.
This is a real EDC knife! It's small and portable, incredibly sharp right out of the box, more than enough for everyday use, and even has some self-defense capabilities. I absolutely love it!
This knife is so small that I can carry it with me or in my bag every day without taking up much space; it's so delicate that it's like a cute little accessory; it's both safe and convenient to use.
This is definitely one of my favorite EDC knives! It's incredibly light yet extremely sharp, and you can carry it discreetly without it being noticeable. Small but with a big impact. I love it!
The Echo Wing is essential when I'm getting ready to go out. It's small and portable, yet powerful, always ready to be used, and always in top condition. I love it so much!
I love it. The cutting edge is great, and I'm in love with the handle. Seems like every other knife that has individual finger grooves never seems to line up with my fingers, so the fact that this one has a smooth swell in the middle is a huge bonus. This is my new daily carry whether I'm wearing jeans, my gun belt, or shorts out at the grocery store.
Standing on the cliff by the sea, the wind is pretty strong and the waves are crashing against the rocks below. I casually pulled out Echo Wing and held it in my hand — it just feels right. The black blade looks clean and low-key, and the grip sits perfectly in my palm. Looking out at the endless ocean, I suddenly felt super relaxed. No fancy shots planned, just out for a walk with a reliable knife in hand. It’s simple, everyday stuff… but it just feels good.
