Taped the handle because mainly carry it IWB and the handle is nice and aggressive. Perfect dagger, well balanced and light in the hand. Sheath is also premium. Very well thought out design and quality materials. 10/10

I was very happy with the ability of this knife to penetrate a target. The grip was super aggressive, making it ideal for use in slippery environments. It held up to being stuck through a tire with no damage to the tip or edge. When we experimented with different ways to hold the knife (icepick or hammer grip, different variants) it never felt like we would lose control of the blade. This was proven time and time with repeated impacts against the tire.
The sheath retention button fell a part while attempting to unsheath the knife. Mr. Maxwell said he would see if there was another sheath Skallywag could send in a holding pattern on that. The blade has good steel well worth the price. The handle of the blade is very aggressive meant to be used by an Operator with gloves. If used for any period of time with bare hand or in an extensive wet environment ( rain or jungle) for any period of time you will develop hotspots or blisters. Other than these two issues the blade and sheath would be Awesome!

Wow! This went above and beyond my expectations! Super solid, sharp, the grip is perfect. I definitely haven’t needed to tape it for grip because it’s very grippy. The sheath and the belt attachment is excellent as well. I’m so impressed, I’m already thinking of buying more to start a collection. These are beautiful
Excellent blade, great edge retention, blade flexes and returns true. Handle has deep pattern for positive grip even in wet or slippery situations. Sheath has lock for added security. Can't brag on it enough!!!

The Malice is everything the name implies. It’s quite intimidating with its long super sharp and stabby blade. The kydex sheath is a necessity when carrying The Malice. You feel more confident that you won’t have serious mishaps with this double sided sharp edged weapon while it’s protected with the clever sheath safety mechanism. Additionally, it’s less likely someone can purloin your dagger while it’s being firmly held by the hilt safety catch. The scales on the handle grip to the extreme to keep your hand from slipping down onto the blade. I hope I never have to use this blade for self-defense because I would feel very badly for 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑜𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑔𝑢𝑦 no matter how much he/she had it coming.
This, is an "impressive weapon"! I was very pleasantly surprised at it's look, feel and sheath!!! Pictures just don't do it justice. Light saber sharp right out of the box (unexpected for a dagger), VERY secure grip scales and long enough to reach any desired target! Thinking of getting another ..
Absolutely do not like the grip not even one bit. By not rounding off the edge along the tang it has created a sharp edge that is very uncomfortable unless you are wearing gloves.
Great knife, I really don't like the grips at all. They should have been rounded off a little bit around the Tang because they make sharp edges that are somewhat uncomfortable without gloves. I think the Glock knives and Gerber fighting knives are much more comfortable.
I think the Malice is awesome. Great length and balance. The grip and guard keep your hand locked in, making you feel secure in high stress situations. Fit and finish is excellent. I like the safety lock on the sheath. Packaging is top notch as well. A great blade from a great company. Highly recommend.

The Malice is my second edged weapon purchase from Skallywag, and as with my first purchase I am completely satisfied. I find it to be balanced, well made, and functional. Some commented on the grip portion of The Malice sighting edges that caused discomfort, but for me that is not the case. Before leaving my review, I definitely took the time and put it through a gambit of functional training and cutting drills. The Malice did not disappoint. The kydex sheath is different. It has an actual thumb lock mechanism, which some may like or dislike depending on preference. I found that I like it, it works well, and it is durable. Keep it up Skallywag! #AATW
The knife is beautiful and the grip is shaped to fit comfortably in the hand. The pattern on the handle is aggressive in a way that locks into your hand which I like. If it’s too rough you can always wrap it in hockey tape. The sheath is very tight and the locking mechanism insures that the blade will never come out unless you want it too. The only downside I’ve had is that the sheath is so tight that it makes it difficult to deploy the blade without putting in more force than I feel should be necessary especially since the locking mechanism provides an additional layer of retention. Overall I like the blade and am satisfied with it.

Aggressive pattern on handle give a solid slip free grip. The knife is well balanced and comes razor sharp out of the box. Couldn't be more pleased. Quality at an affordable price point

I've previously commented very positively on the Malice, so I will avoid being redundant. That said, I've ordered 3 of them to date. One knife for a collection...One knife to actually use....One knife as a gift for a close friend. Hopefully that provides clarity on what an awesome blade I consider the Malice to be!!! As always, the transaction process and customer service are top rated, although customer service is rarely needed with Skallywag Tactical!

On the positive side: Reasonably sharp, sturdy and with a grippy haft. The only negative is the lock on the sheath. It's tiny and trying to find it and flip it open in an emergency would be a real challenge.
Excellent grip, texture, and balance, the entire edge was sharp enough to slice paper. The knife is made in Tiwan, but I was so impressed with the quality I don’t care where it’s made

Great craftsmanship my only hang-up is the hand guard. In a self-defense situation, I have concerns about slippage when you are not wearing gloves due to it being smaller. Outside of that, I will still be recommending your products to anyone who will listen.
A well thought out knife thanks to the designer I noticed it's not over built a lot of makers like to over build daggers but this dagger is built for its design and purpose will it cut yes like a straight razor will it Pierce yes with a very little effort this is a real Combat dagger I wished I would have had when I was serving will be buying my second one soon thanks
