I first saw this knife awhile ago on your website, I liked what I saw but did not pull the trigger and purchase it. sometime later I was ready to purchase the Bounty but alas it was sold out. I signed up for notification when it would once again be for sale. After what seemed like a interminable wait Scallywag once again had the Bounty in stock, needless to say I didn't hesitate and it arrived promptly at my door. what a beautiful beast of a knife. I look forward to using it soon.

This Bounty is amazing! It’s my truck knife!
I liked it so much, I bought two.

I love my Bounty, I waited so long and now I have it with no regrets.

Very nice, heavy weight. Nice craftsmanship. I would like to see a leather sheath option available for it.
Good job Skallywag !!

I love my new short sword! It is absolutely beautiful. Very well balanced and very sharp.
Thank you very much, yes i am looking at more items!
Have a great thanksgiving to a very professional staff.

I have been collecting weapons for sixty years. The Bounty is one of the nastiest things that I have ever held, and I mean that in the very best way. If I ever go hiking in an area where I can’t carry a firearm, I would definitely carry the Bounty attached to my pack. I doubt that I could stop a bear with it, but it wouldn’t live long enough to digest its’ meal.

The Bounty is by far and away the most balanced weapon I have ever held.
The handle length and shape imbues the Bounty with superior mass-heft and “it feels just right” –quality…more than any short sword; far better reach than any kukri, and by far better raw chop force that any bowie. It has a sexy blood groove too.
Lateral cross draw swing moderate distance no-step lunge testing reveals increased likelihood of limb removal; heck, arms be flyin’ off like Yojimbo !
Forward extended arm full-step thrust testing reveals that the strength on the forward most tip is sufficient to carry the penetrative mass of the blade into the interior ribcage of virtually any fleshy mammalian creature.
The Bounty fully enables a kill-capable swing stroke with greater speed and accuracy at a FAR greater range than ANY opponent would expect. By the time they realize what happened, their eyes will be seeing your feet walking away… from ground level.
It seems shameful to write the disclaimer, but:
The Bounty is not for field craft or woodcraft. Ever.
This is a work of ART, certainly not a ‘machete’.
You will name this weapon.
You will caress it. Love it. Trust it like no other.
Aesthetically, the Bounty’s blade has perhaps the ‘sexiest’ grind bevel I have ever seen, even compared with prized historical naginatas and katanas from Japanese museums.
The curvature of the Bounty’s blade edge itself will forcibly raise your eyebrow, curl your lip, and force your mouth to make that little “oooo” shape. Like you are whistling silently, perhaps ‘breathlessly’?
BLADE: sharpness was ‘single sheet of paper cutting’ “right out of the box”.
BOX: practical storage, foam fitted, for both travel and display.
SERRATION: excellent for (via the appendage hinges) dismembering large arthropods.
LANYARD: secure attachment point on the central fulcrum.
SHEATH: no complaints, just a practical secure hold.
Quip summary: This is the most effective (cabbage) head chopper that I have ever owned, or even held for that matter.
END COMMO.

Awesome short sword for fun and the apocalypse! Can't really find anything better for the price, or any price for that matter.
Having done bladed martial arts, I quite enjoy one-handed capable bolos/short swords and own quite a few different designs. This ranks as one of my favorites. The option for two-handed offers extra control in close quarters. I took off the belt loop and enjoy swinging this beast with the sheath on, giving it extra weight for grip training.
The sheath comes very tight, so be careful. Nothing a heat gun or a few seconds over a candle can't fix. I'd love to get a satin one for the aesthetics one day.

Bought two, that says it all.

Well there it is, 'The Bounty' is the latest and most welcome addition to my wall-o-mayhem :)
And this is my second and updated review for this blade, my first was just an 'It's OK' due to some struggles I was having with the new sheath being tight even though The Bounty itself is stellar. It seems you just have to work the sheath a little more than I had...
HOWEVER, aside from The Bounty being an awesome blade with the toughness, length, and two-handed capability I desired, what really has sold it and Scallywag as a company to me has been the product support Craig provided for me.

Got the MDV +1, the D2 Dagger and the Bounty. All look great. Fantastic packaging, and good pricing. Have NOT trained with and/or used them yet, but expect to soon. Customer Service and Shipping is fast. Frank

This is a totally awesome functional piece of art. As long as the blade is, there is no wiggle.
The stickers that came with it look great on the sheath. Just wish they had it in satin instead of black so it would be seen better. So that when I pull it out (if the idiot was smart) they would run.

The "Bounty" is a great blade to have in my collection. It's not exactly an EDC,but if you ever really need it for defense you can scare the daylights out of your opponent.
If you want to use it to impress your friends you can make several of them jealous.
Take the "Bounty" and train with it,if for no other reason than to increase your big blade handling skills.
The shape and balance of the "Bounty" is incredible and if like me ,it will become one of your proudest possessions.

Great quality and ready to go right out of the box. Definitely will buy more from this company.

It’s incredibly sharp incredibly light.

I this has become my goto when going out into the woods. It has replaced and retired my kukiri machete. This blade is the perfect tool to goto whether your lopping through vines, branches or the skulls of your enemies. You can use it to split watermelons with so little force needed you’ll think the melon was a ghost. Someone reaching for your slice? No worries, it’ll take that hand off at the wrist with must as much ease. If you’re even thinking about getting this blade, stop thinking, put your pants on, or don’t who am I to judge, and buy it. You’ll fall in love it fresh out of the box.

The Bounty like all of the blades I have received from Skallywag Tactical are not just highly functional but works of art. Great quality, feels great in my hand, very balanced for a blade of its size. I can safely say it does not disappoint. It came to me very sharp and has held its edge very well through a few tests tests on brush and trail cutting.
It isn't exactly light, but I would trust it to more than just cutting low hanging branches, and well worth the weight on your pack.
Michael K.
Extremely impressive work of art that would be taken to the ends of the earth if needed. It is easy to see upon close inspection that the durability and construction could stand the test of time. Technically somewhere between a machete / sword and a combat / survival knife, this is the one you would take if you could not choose both.

This thing is a beast! I already had the Mini so logically I had to get the Bounty. It feels great in the hand(s) and is well balanced. I need to chop some sh!t with it. Basically it will make your friends jealous and women want you.
My Duclaw kicks ass too!

The Bounty is extremely well made, very versatile in terms of it’s design and superbly balanced. I hold a sandan in Kendo and am used to wielding a variety of wooden and bladed weapons in training. I bought the Bounty as a “bush knife” but I would not hesitate to use it as a weapon if necessary. It is a superb short sword and would be lethal in that role. This sonuvabitch means business!

A beautiful piece of art.

Really nice, gr3at balance and quality.

Removed some smaller trees & brush. Kept it's edge! Sharp, good weight. Good buy overall! Taking it into my wilderness hangout.

Waited for a few months to get back in stock, so I could get one. Worth the wait. Love this monster. Only had it a few days but, wow, it handles great and shaving sharp! Already cut a few limbs and waiting for some tatami cutting mats to really have some fun.

This is a Noife! Nah… this is a Sword!!!
In Oct 20’, I decided to Pre Order “The Bounty” after Processing its Description: “a 2.5 lb. 2’ Long “Pirate Kurkri” w/ a 0.25” Thick 16” Long Blade” = A TWO Foot Long Pirate Kurkri with a Quarter Inch Thick SIXTEEN Blade Made with the same Quality and Care and High Standards that SkallywagTactical Delivers Time and Again and that has pleasantly surprised me with every single one of their Knives that I have Previously Purchased?!?! HELL YES!!! Take My Money!!! Finally, in Feb 21’ IT Arrived on my Doorstep.. The 4 month long wait was well Worth It! The Bounty is Exactly as it was described “a Gigantic 2 foot long Razor Sharp Kukri that only a Pirate Genius would’ve Engineered (If Only they had 22nd Century knowledge, skills, and technology)!! It is Crazy Durable and Sturdy evidenced by its 2 lbs. of solid Steel but it actually feels Amazingly Well Balanced in hand. It is exceptionally Maneuverable despite its long length, whether held in one hand or with a 2 handed Grip, it Absolutely feels like the Ultimate Weapon (Firearms arguments Aside) to use during the rapidly approaching Zombie Apocalypse (or for any doomsday scenario) or for when you need the Perfect Tool for Easily Severing Tree Trunk Thick Limbs with just a single one handed swing or for Lopping Tattoo’d & Shaved Heads From Even the Most Muscularly Chorded and Veiny Necks w a swift Baseball Type Swing. I highly Recomend Buyin Yours While they are Still on Sale.

Big blade that puts a smile on my face.
My Bounty arrived yesterday (4/26/21). I am impressed!! The edge is nice and sharp. Nice kydex sheath. The fit and finish is very very nice. Grind lines are symmetrical. Overall, I’m very happy with this blade.
I showed it to two of my friends and they immediately ordered one for themselves.
Thanks again!

Holy Cow
Actually, I would use other expletives to describe my satisfaction with the Bounty!! But, I'm keeping it PG. The Bounty has an extremely sharp blade and serrations. It is very sturdy, well made and will handle any of my outdoor cutting or chopping needs. I ordered the Satin Finish and the Bounty is beautiful. It will become one of the top 3 knives in my collection. I pre-ordered it and it was well worth the wait!!!

Great Blade---The Bounty
Received mine today. Great finish, incredible grind lines and hair shaving sharp. It is on par with knives costing much more. Handle is comfortable and long enough for 2 handgrip or move back on the handle for more chopping ability. I have not used it yet, but have a feeling it will be a great chopper on wood, tree branches ect. As you can tell, I really like it and think I might need another for (show). Sheath is also nice but a bit tight-- no problem as I can take a heat gun and adjust it.
